Guru Kashi University (GKU), Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda), Punjab, is a UGC-recognized and NAAC A++ accredited private institution established under the Guru Kashi University Act 2011 (Punjab Act No. 37 of 2011). Its origins lie in the Balaji Education Trust, founded in 1997, which launched earlier colleges such as Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic (1998), GGS College of Engineering & Technology (2001), GGS College of Education (2005), and institutions for IT, nursing, and more before the university’s formal inception. The residential campus spans over 80–100 acres in the scenic, pollution-free environs near Shri Damdama Sahib and accommodates more than 7,000 students from across India and abroad. GKU is approved by statutory bodies including the UGC, AIU, AICTE, BCI, NCTE, PCI, and ICAR — unique for its accredited agriculture programs in the Malwa region. The university offers over 100 programs ranging from diploma and undergraduate to postgraduate and PhD levels through 12 faculties: Engineering & Technology, Agriculture, Management & Commerce, Computing, Law, Sciences & Humanities, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health & Allied Sciences, Physical Education, Visual & Performing Arts, Education & Information Science, and Fashion & Hospitality Sciences.
